Dumb and Dumber

by Bruce Lansky
It’s dumber than taking a shower,
before you’ve removed all your clothes.
It’s dumber than petting a lion.
It’s dumber than picking your nose.

It’s dumber than wiping your nose on your sleeve,
then wiping your sleeve on your pants.
It’s dumber than dressing in diapers
when you take a date to a dance.

It’s dumber than sharing an apple,
with several hungry worms.
It’s dumber than sharing a cookie
with a friend who is loaded with germs.

It’s dumber than saying that you can’t stand
a person whom you’ve never met.
What’s dumber by far than all of these things
is smoking your first cigarette.
