I Want a Younger Brother

by Bruce Lansky

I want a younger brother:
someone for me to tease,
someone for me to boss around
and order as I please,
someone for me to wake up
every morning with a shout,
someone who will make my bed,
and take the garbage out,
someone to keep my kitten fed
and clean the litter box,
someone to torture (just for fun
I’ll make him smell my socks).

Yes, I want a younger brother,
but I hope that he won’t be
another stubborn and rebellious
little rascal just like me.
