by Robin Mandel Benowitz

I thought it funny when Laura McDunney
Tripped as she ran down the street.
I laughed like a loon when Andrew Terhune
Dropped his lunch tray at his feet.

I howled till I cried when Dylan McBride
Spilled water all over the floor.
I laughed myself silly when my cousin Billy
Tore his new coat on the door.

And when Tippy O'Hare fell out of her chair
I giggled my way down the hall.
But when I split my pants while performing a dance,
Well, now, that wasn't funny at all.
